Memories & Stories

Imperial Sugar Company,
I took a Home Ec class in 1971. I still have the cookbook and have collected them ever since. I also still use many of the recipes that I learned then. My poor parents were my test subjects and were fed some quite unusual dishes in my experimentation period. I was blessed that they always encouraged me and never dimmed my love of cooking. One of my greatest accomplishments is watching my mother make our holiday and everyday dishes and writing down her ”recipes.” She also gave me the recipes for success in raising my family, counting my blessings and finding happiness in every day life. She taught me to appreciate life whether it was sweet and savory or tart and bitter.
