Banana Pound Cake

From the kitchen of J. Hall

 

Ingredients:

 

1 cup shortening (vegetable oil shortening such as Crisco)

1 stick margarine

3 cups Imperial Sugar or Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar

3 mashed bananas

3 tablespoons milk

5 whole eggs

3 cups plain flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 pinch salt

1 tablespoon vanilla

 

Instructions:

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt three times and set aside. Cream shortening, butter, vanilla, and sugar for 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time. Add flour, bananas, and milk (alternately). Mix well. Bake in large tube pan for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours at 300 °F

I just added 2 extra bananas to make it have that added taste. It was a huge hit.
