INGREDIENTS

Almond Glaze

*Spoon & Sweep method: Use a spoon to fill measuring cup with flour until required amount is obtained. Scooping measuring cup directly into flour bag will firmly pack flour resulting in too much flour required for recipe.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cake: Melt butter in saucepan. Add sugar and eggs, beat till smooth.  Add baking powder and flour. Pour into 9 inch pan and bake 30 minutes.
  3. Almond Glaze: Melt butter, then add almonds, oats, sugar, cream and flour. Bring entire mixture to a bowl. As it boils, mixture will start to change consistency and become ’tacky.’ Take mixture and place on top of cooked cake. Then place in oven for 15 more minutes until  almond glaze is browned.
