This old-fashioned sugar cookie recipe has a hint of almond flavor. It is delicious whether dressed simply with a sprinkling of colored sugar or elaborately decorated with frosting.

INGREDIENTS

*Using spoon fill measuring cup with flour until required amount is obtained. (Scooping measuring cup directly into flour bag will firmly pack flour resulting in too much flour required for recipe.)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix salt, baking powder and flour and set aside.
  3. Cream sugars and butter together.
  4. Add egg, vanilla, almond flavor and baking soda dissolved in vinegar.
  5. Mix in dry ingredients and combine well.
  6. Make into balls (around 1 inch) then press with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
