This lightly sweetened granita is refreshing and can be served as a dessert or an intermezzo. Different citrus fruits can be used but a good rule of thumb is to use a 1/2 cup of lime or lemon juice as your base.

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine lime juice, sugar and ginger in a non-reactive saucepan and bring to a full boil. Remove from heat and cool.
  2. Add remaining juices and whisk to combine.
  3. Pour into a shallow non-reactive dish such as a large rectangular Pyrex dish. Exact size does not matter.
  4. Place in freezer overnight.
  5. The following day use a spoon to shave the surface and obtain “granite” like flakes.
