Paletas are made from fresh fruit juice and are sold in small stores known as paleterías in Mexico or by sellers called paleteros that sell these refreshing pops in the streets. One the most popular flavors is Mango con Chile.

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat combine water and sugar, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until all sugar is dissolved.  Remove from heat; cool completely. 
  2. Place diced mango and simple syrup in a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Pour into a popsicle mold, insert wooden sticks and freeze until solid, about 4 hours.
  4. Sprinkle with chile powder.
