This Latin inspired fried plantain dessert is easy to prepare and delicious when served alone or alongside vanilla ice cream.

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

  1. Peel plantains and cut lengthwise in 5 equal pieces. Heat oil to 365°F in a saucepan or sauté pan.
  2. Carefully place several plantain pieces in oil and fry about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  3. Remove from oil and place on paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and a very light sprinkle of salt.
  4. Place in bowl and if desired serve with ice cream.
