Kwanzaa was first celebrated in 1966, as a week-long holiday that encouraged African Americans to reconnect with their African culture and history. It is celebrated from December 26th through January 1st, and as with most holidays, is associated with special foods!

Some of our favorite Kwanzaa treats include a delicious Old Fashioned Sweet Potato Pie Recipe which earns Imperial Sugar 5 stars, plus a terrific Zucchini Bread Recipe. If you’re looking for a mouthwatering side dish, try our Olympic Hushpuppies.
