Cinnamon Roll Turkeys

Ingredients

  • Bread Machine Sweet Dough
  • 1 cup warm whole milk (105°)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour*
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) yeast
  • Filling
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • Pinch salt
  • Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups Imperial Sugar Confectioners Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Pinch salt
  • Turkey Assembly
  • 32 slices cooked crisp bacon, sliced in half
  • 32 candy eyes
  • 8 orange fruit chew candies, sliced on the diagonal
  • 16 red jellybeans or small cinnamon mints

*Spoon & Sweep method: Use a spoon to fill measuring cup with flour until required amount is obtained. Scooping measuring cup directly into flour bag will firmly pack flour resulting in too much flour required for recipe.

Directions

  1. Add sweet dough ingredients to a bread machine in the order listed. Set to dough cycle.
  2. While the dough is rising, combine filling ingredients and mix until smooth. Set aside.
  3. When dough has risen, turn out on a floured board. Roll out into a large rectangle, approximately 16x10-inches. Spread filling evenly over dough.
  4. Roll dough up on the long side. Pinch edges to close. Use a vary sharp knife and cut into 16 slices. Place slices on 2 rimmed baking sheets lined with parchment paper that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Cover with a towel and rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool.
  7. To make frosting, beat butter and cream cheese in bowl of an electric mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar. Beat for 5 minutes, add vanilla and salt. Set aside.
  8. To assemble turkeys, spread a thick layer of cream cheese frosting over surface of cinnamon rolls. Place 4 pieces of bacon to make feathers. Add 2 eyes, and stand the orange fruit chew so that point is facing upwards. Add a red candy for the gobbler. Serve and enjoy!
