Cream Cheese Filling


  • 21 ounce cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup chocolate melting candy, melted according to directions on package

*Spoon & Sweep method: Use a spoon to fill measuring cup with flour until required amount is obtained. Scooping measuring cup directly into flour bag will firmly pack flour resulting in too much flour required for recipe.


  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. Use an electric mixer to beat butter and sugar together. Mix in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Stir in flour until dough forms. Add an additional 2-3 tablespoons of flour until dough is no longer too sticky to handle.
  4. Scoop dough into balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Make an indentation in middle of each cookie with a finger or back of a measuring spoon.
  5. Whisk together cream cheese, egg yolk, sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Spoon or pipe filling into each indentation.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to let cool completely.
  7. Top each cookie with cherry pie filling and drizzle with chocolate melting candy.
