Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, pared and chopped
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2/3 cup Imperial Sugar Light Brown Sugar
  • You will also need: saucepan with lid, chopping knife, paring knife, mixing spoon, measuring cups and spoons, blender or food processor, cookie sheets, spatula, wire cooling rack and wax paper

      Directions

      1. Wash, cut cores out and chop apples. Cook apples, cranberries and water in a covered saucepan over medium heat until apples are softened for about 5-10 minutes.
      2. Stir in sugar and continue cooking an additional 1-2 minutes.
      3. Process smooth in a blender or food processor. Spread in 4 circles, 1/8 inch thick on 2 greased cookie sheets.
      4. Dry in oven at 150°F degrees for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
      5. Lift edges with spatula and refrigerate to cool. Store rolled between sheets of waxed paper.

      • 2 manzanas medianas, mondadas y picadas en trozos
      • 1 taza arándanos frescos
      • 2 cucharadas agua
      • 2/3 taza Imperial Sugar Azúcar Morena Clara
      • También necesitará: cacerola con tapa, cuchillo para picar, cuchillo para mondar, cuchara para mezclar, tazas y cucharas para medir, licuadora o procesador de alimentos, hojas para hornear, espátula, rejilla para enfriar y papel encerado.

      Direcciones

      1. Lave, corte y remueva la corteza de las manzanas. Cocine las manzanas, arándanos y agua en una cacerola cubierta a fuego medio hasta que las manzanas estén suaves aproximadamente de 5-10 minutos.
      2. Añada la azúcar y continúe cocinando por 1-2 minutos.
      3. Procese las frutas en una licuadora o procesador de alimentos. Extienda la mezcla en 4 círculos de 1/8 pulgada de espesor en dos moldes de galletas engrasados.
      4. Coloque los moldes en el horno a 150°F de 2 1/2 a 3 horas.
      5. Levanta las orillas con una espátula y refrigere enfriar. Almacene los círculos enrollados entre hojas de papel encerado.

      These were really easy to make, and so much healthier than the store bought variety. You can use other berries for variety too. Blueberries would be delicious.
