Ingredients
Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
- 1/2 cup Imperial Sugar Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Brown Sugar Manhattan
- 2 ounces bourbon or rye whiskey
- 3/4 ounce white vermouth
- 1/4 ounce Brown Sugar Simple Syrup (see above)
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Cocktail cherry for garnish
Directions
- For simple syrup, add sugar and water into a heavy bottom saucepan. Allow mixture to boil. Stir continuously.
- Once sugar is fully dissolved, remove from heat and let mixture cool completely.
- When cool, your simple syrup is ready to use. Store in an air-tight jar in refrigerator for up to one month.
- To make Brown Sugar Manhattan, place 1-2 ice cubes into cocktail shaker. Add whiskey, vermouth, simple syrup, and bitters. Shake well to combine.
- Strain mixture into a coupe glass. Garnish with cherry.
