Candied Carrots Imperial


  • 2 pounds carrots, peeled, washed, and cut into coins
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups cup Imperial Sugar Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


  1. In a medium skillet, combine water and sliced carrots.
  2. Set to medium-high heat. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until tender.
  3. Drain water.
  4. Add butter, brown sugar, and salt to carrots in skillet. Stir.
  5. Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
  6. Remove cover, simmer on medium heat uncovered for 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally until sauce is golden and slightly thickened.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley (optional)
