Ingredients
Cinnamon Roll Stuffed Baked Apples
- 5 tablespoons Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 8 Granny Smith apples
- 1 can (8 count) cinnamon rolls
- 3 tablespoons butter
Cream Cheese Frosting
- 4 ounces cream cheese, soft
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, soft
- 1 cup Imperial Sugar Confectioners Powdered Sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Combine sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
- Cut away the top of an apple, roughly about 1/5 of it. Using a melon baller scoop out interior of apple, keeping about an 1/4-inch-thick layer on bottom and sides.
- Sprinkle inside with cinnamon sugar and set aside. Continue with remaining apples. (Set insides of apples aside for homemade applesauce.)
- Open can of cinnamon rolls and place a roll in each apple.
- Melt butter and spoon evenly over cinnamon rolls.
- Place in oven and bake until rolls are golden light brown on the surface, about 30-33 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare cream cheese frosting.
- Combine soft cream cheese and butter with a firm spatula. Add powdered sugar followed by vanilla extract. Stir energetically.
- Spread frosting over cinnamons rolls and serve warm.

This recipe is made with pre-made cinnamon roll dough and is formulated to be used with 8 apples. However, cutting the recipe in half is just as easy.
