Products Used

  • 3/4 pound (3 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup (plus extra for sprinkling) Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon green creme de menthe liqueur
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour*
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • 1/4 teaspoon mint extract

      4. Roll the dough ½-inch thick and cut into 3 by 1-inch fingers. Place the cookies the on the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the edges begin to brown. Allow to cool to room temperature.
      5. In a small saucepan combine dark chocolate and shortening; heat and stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Remove from heat; stir in mint extract. Dip each cookie into chocolate.
      6. If desired, drizzle cookies with melted white chocolate.
