Ingredients

  • 5 slices raisin bread
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
  • Extra raisins, if desired
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • You will also need: a knife, medium bowl, whisk and 1-quart baking dish

      Directions

      1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
      2. Lightly butter a 1 quart baking dish.
      3. Cut raisin bread in narrow strips, about 1 inch wide, and dip them in melted butter. Place and stack bread strips in baking dish and sprinkle with extra raisins.
      4. Put all other ingredients in a bowl and whisk together. Pour over bread.
      5. Bake abut 30 minutes or until top is browned and puffed. Serve cold or warm with powdered sugar or whipped cream.

      1. Caliente el horno a 375° F.
      2. Engrase el molde para hornear con mantequilla.
      3. Corte el pan de pasas en tiras de una pulgada y mójelas en la mantequilla derretida. Coloque las tiras de pan en el molde y esparza las pasas opcionales sobre ellas.
      4. En un tazón mezcle los demás ingredientes. Vierta la mezcla sobre el pan.
      5. Hornee por 30 minutos o hasta que la cubierta esté dorada e inflada. Sirva caliente o frio, espolvoree con azucar en polvo o adorne con crema batida.
