Red Velvet Hot Chocolate

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1/3 cup Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring, about 2 teaspoons worth

Marshmallow Whipped Cream


  1. Bring the milk, half and half and sugar to a simmer in a medium-sized sauce pot.
  2. Add semi-sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips and cook, stirring, until smooth.
  3. Add vanilla extract and red food coloring (till you reach desired color) and mix until combined.
  4. Prepare Marshmallow Whipped Cream: In a large bowl with a hand mixer, beat heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar on high speed until soft peaks form.
  5. Add marshmallow cream/fluff and vanilla and continue whipping on high speed until peaks form, about 2 minutes.
  6. Pour hot chocolate into cups and top with large dollops of marshmallow whipped cream.
